STEVE HAND
Founder | Mentor | InvestorSteve's property journey started with a single piece of advice from a boss: "Instead of buying a new car, buy a property instead." He took it. That first purchase was in 2001 and it made him £76k. He's never looked back.
Since then, Steve has spent nearly 25 years buying and selling land, securing below-market-value properties, completing renovations, structuring joint ventures, and investing across start-ups and large-scale property projects.
As co-founder of Express Mortgages, he has spent two decades on the inside of property finance. Understanding how to structure deals, how to leverage money, and how to fund projects in ways most investors never get close to.
That knowledge is now the foundation of The Wealth Academy.

Laura-Jane has never been afraid to do things differently. She turned down a big wedding to buy a plot of land instead — and made a profit on it. When the 2008 crash had everyone running scared, she and Steve were quietly picking up properties at a discount.
Her background in property goes well beyond the boardroom. LJ has project managed everything from small refurbishments to large-scale conversions, managed a buy-to-let portfolio, and invested in both start-ups and significant property projects. She knows what it takes to get a project from vision to completion — and what it takes to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
